ARTISTS ASSIST PATRIOTIC FUND

A collection comprising 138 pictures, valued at £1200, has been presented by the New Zealand Society of Artists to the National Patriotic Fund Board in aid of patriotic funds. All the pictures except eight are for sale. The eight pictures reserved are offered as prizes in an art union. With the co-operation of local authorities and art societies, the board has made arrangements for the pictures to be shown in a number of centres of the Dominion. The first exhibition was held recently i i Nelson and was a great success. Fourteen of the pictures to a value of £140 16s were sold, as well as 30 books of art union tickets, all that were sent. All the pictures will remain in the collection till the close of the exhibition itinerary.

The Wellington exhibition is open daily at Kirkcaldie and Stains lounge.
