IRON & STEELMAKERS
RELEASE BY BRITISH ARMY
(Rec. 1.45 p.m.) LONDON. May 22,
Skilled men will be released from the Army in England to work in the iron and steel industry, which needs 30,000 men. A section of Cabinet has hitherto strongly resisted the efforts of Mr. E. Bevin, Minister of National Service, to persuade his colleagues that a substantial number of soldiers could be more usefully employed in industry.— U.P.A.
