CORRESPONDENCE
THE SPIRITUAL BASES
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —There is a lot of merit in the suggestion of your correspondent, Mr. H. B. Jacobs, that a league of people should be formed who truly love this country, and are prepared to show sufficient enthusiasm to safeguard its future. The suggested name, "The League of Christ Victorious," is a good one, because without Christ as a fundamental basis, the creation of the league would be useless.
The spiritual apathy shown by the multitude is really remarkable, when one takes the trouble to analyse the chaotic conditions of the world today. Must they wait until the invading hordes reach Egypt and Palestine before they seek the guidance of God in world affairs, because this will surely come to pass. Let them read the signs of their apathy in the present conditions of today, and make at least some endeavour to understand the meaning of it all. At such a time as this, when God is exercising us witK our usual and common calamity, surely it behoves us to break the silence that prudence would persuade us to use, or is it perhaps, as in the days of Noah, the warning goes unheeded?—l am, etc., , CITIZEN.
