RAIDS ON ISLANDS

CYPRUS AND CRETE

R.A.F. VISITS GREECE

LONDON, May 16. A Cairo communique states that aerodromes in German-occupied Greece were raided yestex-day.

A small force of Italian bombers yesterday attacked Cyprus. This was the first attack made by the Italians on the island. The damage was slight and there were only three casualties.

In an enemy air attack on Crete five enemy planes were brought down. Two towns on the island. Malena and Heraklion, were bombed, but there were neither casualties nor damage.

The Istanbul correspondent of "The Times" says reports from various sources indicate the imminence of a large-scale attack on Crete.
