A YEAR'S PROGRESS

GOLF ASSOCIATION

Despite difficult conditions, the Wellington Metropolitan Golf Association made considerable progress during the first year, states the annual report. Of twenty-three affiliated clubs seventeen joined the association.

Congratulations are extended to the chairman, the Hon. Vincent Ward, on his election to the New Zealand Golf Council.

A series of enjoyable golf functions were held during the year in aid of the National Patriotic Fund. To date £332 18s 6d has been raised. Some clubs, the report adds, still have to hold their open days.

Amongst suggestions for the ensuing year, to be discussed at the annual meeting, is one for friendly inter-club games.
