Sergeant James Clark Caltell, R.N.Z.A.F., now reclassified missing believed killed. Mrs. M. E. Cattell, 43 Messines Road, Karori (m.).

Pilot Officer Kirkcuklie is the younger son of the late Mr. Norman Kirkcaldie. He was educated at Here[worth School, Havelock North, WangaInui Collegiate School, and Victoria College. On leaving Wanganui he joined the firm of Clarke. Menzies, Griffin, and Co., public accountants, and later left for Australia and took up commercial Jlying. Shortly after the outbreak of war he returned to the Dominion, and gained his pilot officer's commission. He left for England in December, 1940, He is a grandson of the late Mr. John Kirkcaldie. founder of Kirkcaldie and Stains, and of the late Mr. John Kebbell, one of the pioneer settlers of Horowhenua. i

Sergeant J. C. Cattell was a son of Mr, and Mrs. Frank Cattell, 43 Messines Road. Karori. He was born in Wellington and was educated at Karori School and at Wellington College. After leaving college he was appointed to the staff of Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Taumarunui, from whence he applied for enlistment in the Air Force at outbreak of war. He was called up for training in April, 1940. leaving New Zealand in the following September.
