LACK OF INTEREST
N.S.W. STATE POLL
FEELING HARD TO JUDGE
(Rec. 2 p.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day,
Seldom has a State election evoked such little public interest as that which is to be held tomorrow> , The party organisers on both sides have found it most difficult to judge the general feeling of the .electors and many dates have had to explain their policies to mere handfuls of supporters. .' >
Both sides express confidence in victory. The Labour Party goes to the poll with 32 seats and must win 14 more to give it a ; majority of two, which would be reduced -'to one after the election of the Speaker. The present state of the. parties is: ment, 55; Labour, 34; Independent,- i. One Labour seat has been abolished by a redistribution and another is so .changed that Labour has not nominated a candidate;—U.P.A.
