PROFITABLE BRIDGE PARTIES

Sister Molly Mahoney, Fighting Services Queen, was a guest .at. the "patriotic bridge party given recently by the Oriental Bay-Roseneath branch of the Women's National Reserve,; in the English-speaking Union rooms. She attended with Miss Denise Puttick, the Army princess, and Mrs. Puttick. Mrs. E. T. W. Love, Hutt Valley Queen, also visited the party. The sum of £12 7s was realised. At a similar party, for the Commerce Queen (who was represented, by Miss Tii}gey ? the Wholesalers' princess), the sum ■* of £15 17s wes raised. On both occasions a number of branch members helped the committee. '.''-■' ; ANOTHER EASTBOURNE EFFORT. There was a large audience in the | Grown Theatre, Eastbourne, when "The Stars of Eastbourne" gave a concert there recently, from ;which .- the sum of £13 was realised for the funds of- "Princess" Marjorie Macklin. The performers,, and Misses Grace Wadley} V. Dicksoni and D. Elliot, who organised the concert, were thanked hy' the Mayor, Mr. E. W. Wise. The performers included. Misses Ella Cheyne, Ruby Gheyne. Gwen Flannagan, W. Dickson, G. Gresswell, Dorien Barclay, Margot Kenny, Dorothy Dickson, A. Stubbs, P. Mcßrearty; Messrs. R. Hall. R..Dickson, D. Edgley^ Master. Bryce Francis, and a choir of school children., Mrs. P, Dennehy was the pianist.
