Soviet View of British Position
LONDON, April 29,
Moscow radio tonight commented on the situation in the Balkans and said that despite the loss of their positions in Greece, the situation of the British in the eastern Mediterranean , remains stable. An attack against Egypt through the Western Desert still provides enormous difficulties, while the Red Sea secures supplies for the British Army and the transport of reinforcements.
and Mr. Cordell Hull that he was greatly encouraged about the prospects of American co-operation with China.
The Chinese Ambassador, Dr. Hu Shih, said that materials were going from the United States to China in ever increasing amounts.
Dr. Quo described his conversation with Mr. Hull as very satisfactory. He predicted that Britain could now stave off any invasion attempt and that the crucial struggle of the European war will be the Battle of the Atlantic— U.P.A.
