A DEEPER MEANING

COMRADES IN THE WAR

Judging from accounts he has studied of the operations of the Australian and New Zealand. Forces in the last war, and from his personal experiences in the present struggle, Sergeant P. Barbridge, ' who arrived here in the hospital ship Somersetshire, is of the opinion that the co-operation between the forces is now greatly -enhanced, and the word "Anzac" has taken on a new meaning.

Sergeant Barbridge was attached to the intelligence section of the A.I.F. abroad, and his work included that of an observer.

"I think that by all accounts, judging from what I have studied of the last war, that we now have a greater and stronger co-operation between the Australians and New Zealanders," he v said.

Sergeant Barbridge referred to the kindly and efficient treatment that had been extended to the men* on the hospital ship ,and on other ships on which he had travelled as a soldier.
