NAZI SUPPRESSION

VATICAN CONDEMNATION

LONDON, April 20

The Vatican Radio today made another attack on the German leaders for the condition of religion in Germany under , the present regime.

The speaker emphasised that all religious institutions dedicated to education had been suppressed in Germany. The most venerated monasteries and convents had been dissolved, and in one small province of Austria between 30 and 40 religious communities had been closed down.

The Vatican speaker stressed that in Germany officials and dignitaries were being constantly watched if they took (fart in religious life.

Finally, the speaker said his broadcast was probably being heavily jammed, but he reminded his listeners that those who were jamming the broadcast were obviously afraid of the truth, a fact which was condemnation in itself.
