GOVERNOR-GENERAL

VISIT TO TAUPO

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, April 20,

The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, accompanied by Lady Newall, today inspected the Taupo Home Guard. Later, as a result of a wish Sir Cyril had expressed, the Viceregal party met children attending the Taupo School.

Quickly overcoming the children's shyness, in a short address Sir Cyril told them they were very fortunate in being born and being able to live in such a lovely country as New Zealand, and said he hoped they would appreciate this fact. In return for such a privilege they should try to show their appreciation by clean living, clean thinking, and clean behaviour, thus becoming good citizens.
