COMMITTEE APPOINTED
I An enthusiastic meeting of women, J members of the Labour Party in the j Wellington East electorate was held j recently, when an address was delivered by the member for the district, j the Hon. R. Semple. I Mrs.- B. Reid presided. A hearty vote of thanks and confidence in Mr. Semple was moved by Mrs. G., M. Unsworth, who referred to Mr. Semple's long and untiring service to the community, to the workers, and to the courage,of the leaders of the Labour Party generally and Mr. Semple in particular. Mrs. H. Parish seconded the vote of thanks and confidence, which was carried unanimously and with acclamation. ■ . A strong committee was set up with Mrs. G. M. Unsworth as chairman, Mrs. Parish, vice-chairman, Mrs. Murphy secretary-treasurer, and Mesdames Edmanson, Harris, Weller, Cutfield, and Furness as the executive.
The full meeting pledged; themselves to work whole-heartedly in the coming year. .
