FAIRY RING

Pixie People:

An Autumn Bowl

Have you been trying to guess what our next competition is to be? The Elf is longing to tell you, so I shan't keep you waiting any longer. We are chdosing prizes for the four best descriptions of "An-Autumn Bowl" If Autumn flowers are glowing in your gardens, you may describe a bunch of these, but it doesn't matter whether you see them in a florist's window, a neighbour's garden, or in a, park. Describe the flowers and leaves, their colouring, and the bowl you ivould choose to arrange them in. I know there are many Ring people; who enter for the children's classes at the flower shows, so I am sure you will enjoy this competition, which is really a flower show On paper. Don't forget the richly-tinted leaves and berries that are brightening all the countryside just now. You may like lo describe' a bowl filled entirely with berries and foliage. We feel that Autumn has stepped right into the Ring today, for out of Bush Elf's envelope tumbled the gayest collection of leaves . . . scarlet oak, golden maple, and wine-red Virginia were there, wearing the richest of autumn's gipsy tints. I am longing to read your "Autumn Bowl" entries, so please begin this weekend, my elves, and post them before next Saturday to the "fairy Ring" "Evening Post," Wellington. Letterbox Elf wants to know how many' Ring, people knitted the cosy pixie-cap we described in the Ring. If you did lam sure you must have worn it this week! Our love to every elf! FAIRIEL
