Egyptian Rose, who attracted notice by her success among the two-year-olds at the C.J.C. Meeting on Monday, was bred by Mr. E. Steele, of the Windsor Park Stud, Oamaru, and is by Iliad from Lotus Lily, by Chief Ruler from Egyptian Flower, by Finland or Egypt from Mint by Mintagon. Lotus Lily was bred at- Hastings by Mr. J. M. Cameron, who raced Egyptian Flower both in New Zealand and Australia. A few months back Egyptian Rose was taken over on lease by the Oamaru trainer, N. J. Dwyer, whose colours were represented for,, the first time when the filly raced at Oamaru last month.
