SOUTHERN PRODUCE POSITION

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, April 18

The potato market is firm, with .no variation in price, which is £7 a ton on trucks. Inquiries have been received from Auckland and Wellington for supplies, this being unusually early in the season for this development. There is a very firm tone about the local market, nothing having occurred to alter previously formed opinions of a shori crop. Trade in autumn seeds is practically over, the North Island demand having been supplied- Cocksfoot and white clover are being exported in small quantities, as shipping becomes available. White clover is quoted at Is a lb for good seed -Red clover is still coming forward, and good seed is quoted to Is 3d a bushel.
