REGULATION SHORTLY

Replying to a question today, the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) said that the regulation providing for the extension of the half-hour of Summer Time throughout the year Avould be brought down shortly.

Just after the House of Representatives adjourned last month, Mr. Fraser announced that the alteration would be made by regulation and not by amending legislation, because the regulation method Avas more elastic.

At present the period of the operation of Summer Time in New Zealand is from the last Sunday in September to the last Sunday in April. This year, therefore, daylight saA^ing Avould end normally on April 27.
