THANKSGIVING NOTE
IN INTERCESSORY SERVICE
Today's weekly intercessory service in the Town Hall, held half an hour later than usual so as not to .clash with the Air Force demonstration over the city, was characterised by a note of thanksgiving for the past week's heartening war news. The first session was presided over by Mr. L. T. Jacobsen and the second half-hour by the Rev. E. W. Batts.
"Oh that men would therefore praise the Lord," was the text taken by Mr. Batts, who said that the past week had seen events of tremendous significance taking place, events over which they might well rejoice.- But the war was not yet won, nor was the end even in sight, and the Empire should continue constant in prayer, while praising God for the victories already won and for those to come. ■
