MEDICINE SUPPLY
CHEMISTS TO CONFER
According to an announcement made in Christchurch by the Minister of Health (Mr. Nordmeyer) draft regulations for the provision of medicines under tlje Social Security Act have been completed, and representatives of the chemists have been invited to discuss the proposed regulations early next week.
The Minister said that the Chemists' Service Guild Council had arranged to meet on Tuesday, April 8, and the draft regulations, together with the draft drug tariff which would set out the description and price of drugs to be supplied, would be discussed between himself and the chemists. As soon as the regulations and the drug tariff had been fully discussed and completed the benefits would become available to the general public at the shops and dispensaries of those chemists who undertook to supply medicines under the scheme.
A further announcement would be made giving full details of the organisation of the scheme immediately the regulations have been approved.
