The National Committee on Food for the Small Democracies lias announced a plan for relieving famine conditions in German-occupied European countries. It has been supported by tw<. ,-irchbishops and eighteen bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. In a joint statement they said: "Victory built on the dead bodies of starving women and children, and the innocent victims of h war over which they have no control, will destroy the human sentiments that must necessarily enter into any form of enduring peace."
