MUZZLING OF MEAT BOARD

WAIPUKURAU, March 25

The meat restrictions were discussed at a special meeting of members of all branches of the Farmers'" Union in Central Hawke's Bay, . held in Waipukurau this afternoon. An address was given <by Mr. C. R. Edgecombe, I electoral member of the Meat Pro- | ducers1. Board, and after a number of speakers had strongly criticised the present position, the following resolution, to be forwarded to the Prime Minister, was adopted unanimously:— "This representative meeting of i farmers of Central Hawke's Bay, while [expressing complete confidence in the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, strongly protests at the apparent • muzzling of the board by the Govern- | ment. j "Further, we protest against the attitude of the Government in restricting the killing of certain classes of meat at this period of the season." j
