COMPENSATION COURT

A suspensory order to provide against possible future disability has been made by Mr. Justice O'Regan, in the Compensation Court, in a case in which Hilton Murphy, a general hand in the Municipal Milk Department, claimed further compensation from the Wellington City Corporation for an injury to his right arm, suffered in the course of his employment. Mr. T. A. Tarrant appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. J. O'Shea, with him Mr. J. R. Marshall, for the Corporation.

Compensation up to March 25, with an additional three weeks' compensation from that date, was granted to James Newman, a labourer, aged 52, when McGowan and Magee, Ltd., applied for an order terminating the payment of weekly compensation. Newman strained himself on December 9 last while moving cases of dried milk. Mr. W. P. Shorland appeared for the company, and Mr. R. I. M. Sutherland for Newman.
