FEDERAL DEFENCES
STATE PREMIERS TO MEET
SYDNEY, February 17,
The Acting Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Fadden, announced today that he is calling a conference of State Premiers in the immediate future to discuss the war generally, and in particular air-raid precautions.
i "From what I am told and from what I have seen, we have to be on the gui vive," said Mr. Fadden. "The situation is not alarming, but it is critical. We would be foolish if we i did not take stock of our resources."
