FIRE AT HASTINGS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

HASTINGS, February 16.

Damage estimated at £2000 resulted from a fire which destroyed a cool store and packing shed owned by Mr. W. H. Sisson, Hastings, on Saturday night. The cause of the blaze has not been established.

Originating in a shed used for the storage of spraying materials and plant, the fire quickly spread to the nearby cool store building. The brigade was summoned by telephone, but as the property is outside the borough the firemen could use only the first aid equipment on the engine. They prevented the fire from spreading to machinery and adjacent outbuildings.
