7000 PRISONERS TAKEN IN DAY
HEAVY R.A.F. RAID
LONDON, February 14.
News of further. Greek successes in Albania was given by the Athens radio tonight. It said that during an offensive which lasted the entire day the Greeks took 7000 Italian prisoners, including officers, and dislodged the enemy from fortified positions in a height of great importance. Wounded Italians were taken in hundreds after the action.
The latest success by the Greeks is a small advance on a front of about eight or nine miles in the western side of the Tepeleni salient. Fcur hundred prisoners were taken, together with, munitions and arms.
The Greeks are now going eastwards towards the Tepeleni-Durazzo road.
The heaviest and most successful bombing attack in the Albanian campaign was carried out on Wednesday night and yesterday by the Royal Air Force. Heavy bombers attacked the aerodromes at. Tirana and Durazzo. Four Italian bombers were destroyed by fire on the ground at Tirana. All day yesterday concentrated and repeated attacks were made on Tepeleni and on military concentrations around Buzi and in support of the Greek forces. On the' previous day military concentrations and buildings were successfully attacked at Elbasan. Th* Greek air force has also made successful attacks on enemy positions.
