The carnival programme will provide events for almost every day, including concerts, balls, cabaret evenings, dances, card parties, and a variety of other entertainments all desighed to attract funds to the patriotic coffer. Individual committees will naturally endeavour to collect as much as possible for their .respective "Queens and a large barometer is to be erected in the city to show the positions of the candidates from day to day.
Support already promised has been on a generous scale and the street day procession should be. one of the most spectacular ever held in Wellington. Members of the Australian, Canadian, American, Hindu, and Chinese communities- intend to take part,, and there will be inter-house girls' teams, the Fire Brigade, nurses, Territorials, and a contingent from Trentharn to lend colour and variety to the procession.
