JOINT DEFENCE PROJECT

OTTAWA, February 13

The Air Minister, Mr. Power, announced a 20,000,000-dollar air programme for home defence involving the construction of a chain of aerodromes in British Columbia and Alberta linked with Alaska as protection against an invasion through Alaska. This chain would be built as a joint defence project with the United States. Other aerodromes which would be built in eastern Canada would be exclusively Canadian.
