STRUCK BY TRAIN
RAILWAYMAN IN HOSPITAL

PALMERSTON N., February 13,
Struck by a train near Shannon, l^dward Farnan, railway employee, was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital with serious injuries. He is a young married man whose- home is at 28 Mill Road, Brooklyn, Wellington.
Farnan was walking along the side of the railway line while a. mixed train was approaching, and apparently thinking it was keeping to the main line, he turned on to a loop line. The train did likewise, and Farnan was struck in the back and carried for 30 yards on to the cattlestops. His injuries include lacerations to the head and a fractured skull.
