COLONEL KNOX THINKS NOT

LONDON, February 12,

Colonel Knox, United States Naval Secretary, declared at a Press conference in Washington today that the United States" can spare no more destroyers. Colonel Knox was commenting upon the proposal made by Mr. Wendell Willkie that more destroyers should be sent to Britain. He said he would not give a direct statement on the proposal, but declared: "My position as Secretary of the Navy is againsl depleting our navy further."
