HASTINGS, February 12.

Injuries accidentally received when the handle of a winch which he was helping to operate (lew back and struck him on the head caused the death of Geoffrey Allan Gardner, aged 18. according to the verdict returned at an inquest conducted in Hastings by the Coroner, Mr. Geo:i*e Ebbett. The youth was assisting in haymaking operations at Pakipaki.
