REASONS FOR RETIREMENT

SYDNEY, February 6

The "Sydney Sun" tonight publishes an interview with Mrs. Ron Richards giving reasons for her husband's desire to retire from the ring, for which she claims to be mainly responsible, coupled with her husband's complaint against the heavy taxation on his earnings. Mrs. Richards admitted that her husband might yet agree to one more fight, which may be against Maurice Strickland.

Jack Crowley has received a cablegram from Mr. Lucas stating that Richards, owing to heavy taxation, refuses to fight again before the end of the financial year in June.
