THE BARRYMORE PROFILE.
John Barrymore has so far been unable to locate the person to whom he can give full credit for nicknaming him "The Great Profile." During the filming of "The Great Profile," which stars him, the question arose as to who had bestowed this fanciful application upon him. From a story then making the rounds, most people were under the impression that he himself coined this title. It seems that when Barrymore was playing comedy in his early youth he announced that he was giving it up to go into heavy drama because, as he was supposed to have put it, "I have a great profile." On the 20th CenturyFox set Barrymore was certain that he had nothing to do with the originating of his nickname. "It's a good story," he said, "except that it isn't quite true. However, I will assume credit for it until they dig up the man who first hung it on me."
