Weather becoming fair to fine over most of the, country. Isolated showers, are still likely, however, in the high country and'On the Otago and Southland coasts. Temperatures will be cool.
In the last 24 hours pressure has risen rapidly over the Dominion with the passage to the north-east of the disturbance located yesterday morning across the Cook Strait region. Over the North Island fresh to strong northwest winds prevailed at first and the weather was cloudy with scattered rain in the west. South-westerly winds gradually extended frpm the south, however, and changeable conditions became general. Showers were reported from most districts, more especially from Westland and Southland. Temperatures fell with the wind change and are now cool to moderate. The weather was cloudy to overcast in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, with rain at times in the two northern cities. Conditions were changeable in Dunedin, with a few showers. The strong north-west wind in Wellington decreased overnight and the weather became fair to fine. Maximum and minimum temperatures were 74.8 degrees and 64.6 degrees. Four points of rain were recorded.
