FIRST PARADE
ENROLMENTS IMPROVING
The first parade of the central' zone of the Emergency Precautions Service will be held on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. outside the Central Fire Station. The Roseneath, Hataitai, and Kelburn units will also parade, and all members of the service from these and other areas have been asked to attend, together with anyone else interested., Addresses will be given by Mr. K. E. Luke, City Engineer, and Mr. C. A. Woolley, superintendent of the Fire Brigade, and an eight-week course of fire prevention will be outlined.
Weather conditions permitting, a demonstration of fire fighting will be given by auxiliary fire service units and the regular fire brigade.
Enrolments in the Home Guard and Civil Guax%d are now improving, it is stated, but large business houses arcasked to provide their own units to control their premises under the direction of the area warden.
