. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February^ 2. '• The Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's annual championship tournament'has concluded. Because/of the absence of, several leading play-ers,-the men's titles'were not at stake. Miss B. Potter, Waiuku, created a big surprise •by defeating Miss Margaret Beverley in the seml-flnal'of, the women's singles, which title the latter had held. for four previous years. Miss Potter, however, lost the flnal to Miss P.' Cooke. Results:— - Men's ; Singles.—J.' Roach (Waikato) beat N. F. Bedford,. 6-2, 6-3,,4-6,.6-2.. Women's Singles.—Miss .' Cooke ; beat Miss Potter, ■ 6-1, 8-6. Men's Doubles.—J. Roach and D.: B. Livingstone (Waikato) beat J. C. Charters and L. Roach (Waikato), 3-6,4-6,.6-3, 6-2,,6-4.
Women's Doubles.—Misses N. ■ and M. - Beverley, (Waikato) beat Miss P. Cooke and Mrs. P. E. Potter, 6-2,. 6-2. Combined Doubles. —J. Roach and Miss . M. Beverley beat R. •. W. Smith and Miss : Cooke, 6-1, 8-6. .
