FINE WEEKEND
SHOWERS MAY FOLLOW Special forecast for Wellington:— Moderate northerly winds becoming strong- at times. Weather mainly fine and mild but with some passing cloud. The further outlook is for rather more cloud with the possibility of . some light showers on Monday or Tuesday. The forecast for the Dominion as a whole, issued at noon today, 'is for winds westerly to north-westerly, of moderate force over the Auckland Province but strong at times elsewhere. The weather will be fine and warm in eastern districts, fair to cloudy and mild in most other places, but scattered rain may develop west.of the Southern Alps and later about Foveaux Strait. An anti-cyclone has been advancing slowly across the north Tasman Sea towards New Zealand. Apart from sea breezes on the Canterbury Coast the winds from the westerly quarter have continued. In a few exposed positions they have been strong, but mostly of moderate force. Showers fell yesterday on the south-west coast and at a few isolated places in western districts, but for the most part the weather has been, fair or fine and mild. At Auckland yesterday the weather was partly cloudy, ■ with occasional showers and a fresh south-westerly. Christchurch had fair and mild weather with a fresh sea breeze. Dunedin was cloudy with a moderate to fresh and variable wind. Wellington was sunny and mild with a moderate northerly wind, and had 12.9 hours of sunshine, with a maximum temperature of. 73.8 degrees and a minimum of 55 degreei,' ' ' '~./' -'v\ ', • ..:. :,
