PAN-PACIFIC WOMEN'S

ASSOCIATION

New Zealand was to have been the seat of the Pan-Pacific Women's Association's conference last year, but because of the war the conference was postponed for the duration. .The war. too, has considerably curtailed the work of Dominion members of the association and at yesterday's annual meeting it was decided to carry on for the current year on the same lines as those laid down for 1940. The study circles' work has been maintained and full reports of their activities, were made. Delegates from all parts of New Zealand, representing many Dominionwi^e organisations were present at the meeting which was held in the Pioneer Club.

The executive for New Zealand (national committee) was; elected as follows:—Chairman, Miss E. Andrews. M.B.E. (New Plymouth); vice-chair-man, Miss C. C. Jackson (Wairarapa); programme chairman, Miss L. Sullivan, M.A. (Dunedin); treasurer, Miss Kathleen Moore (Wellington); secretary, Miss E. B. Lea (Auckland); executive committee, Princess Te Puea Herangi, C.B.E. (Ngaruawahia), Mrs. Barrer. M.A.'(Masterton), Mrs. H. D. Bennett (Wellington), Miss Amy Kane (Wellington), and Mrs. Kenneth Gordon (Auckland).

Among the visitors to Wellington for the meeting were Mrs. Edith Howe Martyn (England), Mrs. W. J. '..Poison (Stratford), Miss I. M. Jamieson (Frankton), Mrs. Lovell-Smith (Hastings), Mrs. Denton Leech (Dunedin), Mrs. H. J. Barnicoat, and Miss LovellSmith (Dunedin).
