CHEAP-RATE CABLES BOTH 7 WAYS

For some time a cheap-rate cablegram service ha*s been in operation from New Zealand to the New Zealand armed forces in Egypt. Recently the secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board, Mr. G. A. Hayden, wrote to the Director of the Post and Telegraph Department (Mr. J. G. Young), at the suggestion of the Auckland Pro-' vincial Patriotic Council, s inquiring if it would be possible to make available the concession rate for cables from members of the New Zealand forces in that war theatre.
