WAN.GANUL This Day,

The first race of the series for the Cornwell Cup was sailed this morning in fine weather with a light northerly breeze. Boats representing Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton, Plimmerton, Otago, Canterbury, Lyttelton, Paremata, New Plymouth, Manukau, and Wanganui competed. Wanganui, which holds the trophy, took the lead early and was in front all the way, beating Canterbury by sixty seconds. Manukau was two minutes further back third.
