FAIR AND MILD
INCREASING NORTHERLIES
Special forecast for Wellington:— Northerly winds gradually becoming strong. Weather fair and milder. The weekend is likely to be cloudy and windy.
The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for moderate northerly winds prevailing which later will become fresh or strong in some exposed positions. In the far north and to the west of the main ranges the weather will be cloudy, with drizzle developing in South Westland. Elsewhere it will continue fine, and temperatures will be mild to warm.
An anticyclone has remained almost stationary over New Zealand. Moderate to fresh easterly winds have been blowing in the Auckland Peninsula, but elsewhere northerlies have gradually predominated. Apart from a few light showers in the far north, the weather has been fine with mild temperatures.
jAll four main centres had fine weather yesterday, Wellington enjoying 14 hours of bright sunshine and temperatures ranging between 69.4 and 56 degrees.
