The Minister of Finance (Mr. . Nash) announced today that the Government 'has decided to increase by £10 (from £20 to £30) the amount vyhich may be transmitted in any one year to members of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. serving over-. j " seas. . i .'.,.' "This additional amount," the Minister said, "will be made available to .all soldiers, including those who have been overseas since the Ist Echelon sailed. The original scheme was inaugurated in June last, and, although the first year of overseas service for Ist Echelon troops . has now expired, and the first year for 2nd Echelon men will be completed in May next, all these soldiers may,' if they so desire, be permitted to receive the further £10, provided they apply for its transmission between now and May 31 next, that is, within the twelve months from the date: the remittance scheme commenced. "Should special circumstances arise | where it is desired to.; send overseas money in excess of the' limit of £30, it will be necessary for applicants to i communicate direct with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand."
