ANTI-FRENCH

ITALIAN PRESS TREND

"STILL FAITH IN ENGLAND"

HITLER'S CHIVALRY

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)

(Received January 11, 2.40 p.m.) LONDON, January 10.

The Lugano correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that the Italian Press is becoming more strongly. anti-French. The Press declares that French sentiment is regrettably unaltered. Most Frenchmen still have faith in England's power and do not sufficiently appreciate Hitler's chivalrous behaviour towards Marshal Petain.

Diplomatic circles in Rome consider that the Axis will take appropriate measures if France continues to show so little comprehension of realities.
