AUCKLAND January 1(J

Mr. D, H. Whitelaw. an Auckland fisherman, was fired on by the Defence Forces this morning for the sixth time. His launch is believed to have been in a prohibited area at the time, but Mr Whitelaw claims to have gained special permission to anchor within the limits of the area.

The launch was towed to the Naval Base with an armed guard on board after Mr. Whitelaw had refused to shift-

Mr. Whitelaw was detained for some time, but was later released. His launch, however, is being held by the naval authorities.
