HELPING THE ENEMM
CANBERRA, January 3.
A warning that he wou'id do his utmost to have the death pe'Wlty carried out on anyone found co-operat-ing with the Nazi- raiders ii * the Pacific was given by the Mini ster of the Navy and Attorney-General (Mr. W. M. Hughes).
"It seems evident that /the raiders knew exactly where and at what times to look for their victims j," he said.
"As far as we are we effectively suppressed c .very unauthorised radio station in , Australia. It is possible, however, that a neutral ship operating outs jde Australian waters is able to r .adio the movements of Australian, and New Zealand ships to the re ciders, and if this is so it may be < difficult to detect the offender. ,-
"The matter demonstrates how very important it is for all people to keep anything they mwjr hear about shipping movements strictly to themselves."
