MARINES INCIDENT IN PEKING
LONDON, January 3
Japanese military officials in Peking today issued a statement about the incident in which five United States marines were seized and injured by Japanese gendarmes. It alleges that the trouble was started by a marine grabbing a pipe from the mouth of a Japanese. United States officials in Peking have demanded an apology, precautions against similar affairs, and punishment of the Japanese responsible.
