The Country Party candidate, Mr. T. W. Warwick, won the Swan seat for the Federal Government with a majority of 2383 over the Official Labour candidate, Mr. J. Dinan.

Thus, the state of the parties in the House of Representatives, the Victorian Independent Mr. H. W. Coles being included as a Government supporter, will be:—United Australia and Country Parties combined, 37; Labour combined, 36. The Victorian Independent Mr. H. Wilson will continue to hold the balance of power in the House.
