GERMAN FIGURES

LONDON, January 2

The German Supreme Command has published a six-monthly review of German military activity. It includes a statement that in 2000 attacks on Britain since Hitler announced unrestricted air warfare German planes have dropped about 40,000 tons of bombs.

If the German figures are accurate the average weight of bombs dropped on Britain was about 20 tons for each raid; That is to say, on the average, each raid was equal to an attack by only "ten bombers.
