POLES' ENDURANCE
BROADCAST BY GENERAL
SIKORSKI
(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 2, 2 p.m.)
RUGBY, January 1. Broadcasting to his country, General Sikorski, former Polish Premier, said that until last September the Germans by brute force or treachery had gone from victory to victory, but the climax of success had passed. "Having lost the greatest air battle in world history," he said, "the enemy came up against the determined resistance of the most powerful Empire in the world, which today is definitely supported by America."
Mussolini, who was described by General Sikorski as an "associate," had suffered a painful defeat in Greece, which nation he attacked against the will of the Italian people. This situation was hopeless and had become a burden to Hitler.
General Sikorski concluded by calling on his countrymen to endure still further. Quoting, Dr. Hugh Dalto'n, British Minister of Economic Warfare, he said: "The British and Poles are hard. We shall conquer and shall shatter the Germans and their partners. Long live immortal Poland!" ■,' ,
