Auckland.—Rain Interfered with cricket matches on Saturday, about two hours' play being lost. Results: V.M.C.A., 16G for eight (Scott 62 not out), met Papakura Camp. Grafton, 197 (Archer 35, Williams 35, Martin 35), met Parnell. Ponsonby-Balmoral, 182 (Cleal 49: Cleverley flte for 64), met Middlemore. Training College ,138 for four (Elliott 05 not. out), met Eden. University. 101 (Cooper 37), met North Shore, 48 for two.
Chrfstchurch.—The eighth round of the Canterbury Cricket Association's competitions was played on- Saturday in fine weather. The wickets were not affected by the rain on Friday. The scoring, however, was very uneven and only one batsman made a century. He was C. V. Walker, who made 112 in a little more than two hours for Old Collegians against West Old Boys, hitting nine fours. As a result
of the defeat of Lancaster Park, the leading team in the competition, four teams are now equal at the top of the table. Scores: Old Boys, 167 (Keys 56, Graham 38 not out, Anderson 22; Westwood six for 64), beat Lancaster Park, UG (Mcßae 36, Shand 21; Graham five for 37, Escott three for 51). West Christchurch, 178 for eight, declared (Harper 42 not out, Henderson 37, Rumbold 31; Cresswell six for 45), beat Army, 107 (Alexander 41; J. S. Patrick four for 21, Nee three for 45, Henr derson two for 15). East Christchurch, 253 for eight, declared (Lohrey 67, White 45, Waine 40. Soper 33; Collins three for 55), beat St. Albans, 160 (O'Brien 47, McCann 43, Cummings 25; Lohrey five for 28, Kennedy four for 12). Sydenham, 190 for three (F. Kerr 59, Sutherland not out 52. Burgess not out 45; Kemp two for 40), beat Wigram, 182 for eight declared (Mackay 49, Lester 35, L. W. Smith 31 • Spong three for 41, Cameron three for 49). Old Collegians. 236 for four, declared (Walter 112, 3. C. Saunders 50, Hamilton 38), beat West Old Boys, 105 (Phillips 45; J. C. Saunders six for 43, Hamilton three for 11). Riccarton, 211 for eight, declared (Stringer 52, Bull 38, Whitford 33; Ward five for 29). beat Harewood, 76 (Roberts three for 17, Bull three for 21, Rawstron two for 28), and .79 for one (Evans 44 not out), on the first innings. Dunedin.—Beautifully fine weather once again made conditions for cricket most pleasant. The wickets and outfields were fast. The best' performance of the day was that of V. G. Cavanagh, • captain of the Carisbrook B team, who scored 184 not out of a total of 319 against the unbeaten Albion-Y.M.C.A. side. The only batsmen to give him assistance were C. Geary (52) .and J. Coombs (27). 3. Allen took five wickets for 105 runs. AlbionV.M.C.A. scored 52 for one. Dunedin batted the whole afternoon for 280 for three wickets against University (O'Sullivan 104. McDonald 56, Robertson 58 not out, J. Wedlake 33 not out). Carisbrook A scored 236 against Old Boys (Mclntyre 68, Milnes 49, 3. Cameron 47) and captured two wickets for 52. Grange batted first against Kaikorai and made 152 (Freeman 44: Allcott five for 48). Kaikorai lost seven wicket 3 for 43. C. 3. Elmes took all seven wickets for 14 runs.
