YUGOSLAVIA

INDEPENDENCE TO BE

DEFENDED

(British Official Wireless.) (Received December 14, 2 p.m.) KUGBY, December 13. It is stated in well-informed circles that the pact of friendship which is being signed between Hungary and Yugoslavia, in no way involves the adhesion of Yugoslavia to the Tripartite Treaty. The idea of such a pact is of long standing and merely regulates questions of mutual interest. The Regent of Yugoslavia made it clear in a recent broadcast that Yugsolavia is determined to defend her independence.
